Welcome to The Isle of Portland Canoe Club.
The Isle of Portland Canoe Club is a lively, active and
friendly club based in a fantastic location on the
Jurassic
Coast of West Dorset. The club is affiliated to the
British Canoe Union – the Sports Governing Body. The
opportunities for paddling on our doorstep in Dorset are endless and
we are also close to surfing beaches and white-water rivers.
The club offers a varied activity programme throughout the
year including open water sea trips, short coastal paddles,
surfing and white-water trips.
Based in Weymouth, the club welcomes paddlers of BCU 2* or equivalent
standard and organises activities across a very wide
spectrum throughout the year. We are however an adult club
so members need to be at least 18 years old.
The club has close links with the
Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre (WOEC)
and members are encouraged to develop their paddling skills
by participating in their coaching programme.
This friendly open club has a diverse membership and
welcomes new members who are interested in paddling for fun
and fitness and to enjoy the experience in good company.
